What do the PTA do

What do we do?

  • We meet roughly 4 or 5 times in the school year
  • We organise, and host 3 or 4 events throughout the school year
  • We make the tea & coffee for Parents Nights
  • We facilitate the S1 Parents Forum

Our main purpose is to host events in order to raise money which is subsequently distributed to departments, clubs and societies at Boroughmuir High School and equally importantly to bring parents and carers of Boroughmuir pupils together in a social setting .  We do not fund normal in-school activities but hopefully enable the children to have enhanced educational and social experiences at little or no extra cost to parents/carers.

What have we provided funds for?

  • Homework Diaries
  • S2 trip to the Book Festival
  • Netball Club
  • Sheet Music for School Windband
  • Support For Learning Lunch Time Club
  • Art Department

What can you do to help?

  • Attend a few PTA meetings – you don’t have to be able to come to all of them
  • Help out at an event – the more help, the less each person has to do
  • Attend an event (or all of them) – this is the most worthwhile thing you can do

High School PTA is very different to Primary School PTA – much less work is involved as we don’t have School Fairs and we only sell refreshments.

How to contact us:

  • Register on the Boroughmuir Parents website for automatic alerts about PTA events – www.boroughmuir.org                                          Or
  • Text your name and year your child is in to 07955 664873 and you will receive a text about PTA events and details of how to get tickets.
