PTA
The PTA exists to support all Boroughmuir parents. The number of parents who are active in the PTA is fairly small, although the social events are well attended. In addition to fundraising we discuss issues of concern to parents and act as a conduit to and from the Senior Management Team. We also discuss policy issues, particularly where these concern the School and provide input to consultations from the Council and Scottish Executive. DHT David Dempster usually attends PTA meetings, and HT Jack Hamilton attends Parent Council Meetings.
The PTA particularly supports parents who are new to the school. One of the ways that we do this is by facilitating the S1 parents night in September, when we meet many parents for the first time. If you have any queries about how your child is getting on, the first point of contact is normally their Guidance teacher. However, we would be happy to help you if you don’t feel this is appropriate.
We have a planned calendar of PTA meetings and events. All parents and carers are welcome to attend!
