Part of Boroughmuir’s strength lies in the close involvement of parents in their children’s education, and effective links between parents and school.
The Parent Council (PC) offers just one way in which you can get involved. It exists to give parents and carers a voice within the school and is the main formal conduit between us and the school management team.
Meetings are always attended by the Head Teacher who provides a report on all major activities, decisions, changes and organisational/financial issues. As well as parents and the school management team, the PC also comprises pupil representatives, local councillors and representatives from the feeder primary schools.
By coming along to meetings – or even just registering for our emails – you’ll find out a lot about what’s happening in school. Our discussions are stimulating and range widely across all areas of school life including: the curriculum; staffing; improvement planning; uniform; the new school; sports and extra-curricular activities; and funding. You can find all our papers and reports here
If you like what you see on this site and would like to get regular updates, you can Register on our home page. Once you are registered, you will receive an advisory email and link direct to your mailbox each time we publish new information on the site.
Every parent has something different and valuable to contribute to the success of the school – our feedback, views, insights and expertise. We are a friendly bunch and new faces are always welcome! Why not come along and see what you think? All parents and carers are welcome to attend and you can find our meeting dates here.
Raising Issues and Contacting Us
You may submit items for consideration for the agenda by emailing email@example.com or by writing to the Chair via the school office. Sensitive issues may be submitted in confidence.
Please note, items for discussion should be of general interest to the school; individual issues should be raised with the school directly.
